Data storage

Storage management in Arcsys is based on a specialised component that provides a complete abstraction of the physical storage media and the underlying architecture. This abstraction layer ensures that any changes to the storage infrastructure or configuration have no impact on the operation of Arcsys.

Unlimited expansion

Arcsys has no identified limits in terms of archive storage capacity. Additional storage units can be integrated and supported without service interruption.

For very large volumes, the use of magnetic tapes is also possible, thus meeting specific long-term storage needs.

In addition, a partial or total extension to cloud resources can be implemented, offering additional flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of businesses.

Vendor independence

Arcsys supports a wide variety of storage units and also allows the coexistence of several suppliers within these units, thus guaranteeing optimal flexibility to meet the specific needs of users.

Automated migrations

Arcsys integrates advanced functionalities allowing the management of automated migration rules for all or part of the stored archives.

For each category of archive, Arcsys offers the possibility to configure:

  • The number of physical copies to be made simultaneously;
  • The types of storage media to be used;
  • The storage locations dedicated to these copies;
  • The successive sequencing of physical media for each copy.

Rules can be defined and planned to enable the automatic migration of archives from one medium to another. This process guarantees data integrity and ensures complete traceability at each stage.

Monitoring of media

Arcsys provides continuous monitoring of all configured physical copies, detecting any malpractice or corruption on the storage media. In the event of an anomaly, the system automatically intervenes to make the necessary repairs while accurately reporting each identified error.
